In modern bridge construction, bridge segment formwork has become the first choice for many bridge construction projects with its unique advantages and high-efficiency performance. It can not only improve construction efficiency and ensure project quality, but also adapt to various complex bridge design requirements. Now, let's take a detailed look at the application guide of bridge segment formwork in bridge construction.

 Characteristics of bridge segment formwork

Bridge segment formwork is usually made of high-strength steel or aluminum alloy and other materials, and has the following remarkable characteristics:

1. High precision: Adopting advanced manufacturing technology to ensure the dimensional accuracy and surface flatness of the formwork, providing a reliable guarantee for the pouring of bridge segments.

2. Flexible assembly: It can be quickly assembled and disassembled according to different bridge design requirements, adapting to various complex bridge shapes and sizes.

3. Strong reusability: Due to the sturdy and durable material, bridge segment formwork can be reused many times, reducing construction costs.

4. High construction efficiency: Through standardized design and production, bridge segment formwork can be quickly installed and disassembled, greatly shortening the construction period.

 Preparation work before construction

Before using bridge segment formwork for construction, the following preparations need to be done:

1. Design scheme review: Carefully review the bridge design scheme to understand the bridge's structural form, size requirements and construction technology to ensure that the bridge segment formwork can meet construction needs.

2. Formwork selection: According to the bridge's design requirements and construction conditions, select the appropriate type and specification of bridge segment formwork. At the same time, consider factors such as the formwork's load-bearing capacity, stiffness and stability.

3. Site preparation: Clean up the construction site to ensure that the site is flat and solid, providing good conditions for the installation and disassembly of the formwork. At the same time, rationally plan the construction site to ensure the safety of material stacking, equipment parking and personnel passage.

4. Material and equipment preparation: Prepare various materials and equipment required for bridge segment formwork, such as steel, connectors, cranes, welding machines, etc. At the same time, inspect and debug the materials and equipment to ensure their good performance.

 Installation and debugging of formwork

Formwork installation

 (1) Assemble the bridge segment formwork according to the requirements of the design scheme. During the assembly process, ensure that the connection of the formwork is firm and reliable, and the dimensional accuracy meets the requirements.

(2) Use a crane to lift the assembled formwork to the bridge construction position. During the lifting process, pay attention to maintaining the balance and stability of the formwork to avoid collisions and deformations.

(3) Adjust the formwork to the correct position and fix it. When fixing the formwork, use sufficient connectors and supports to ensure the stability and safety of the formwork.

Formwork debugging

(1) Check the installation quality of the formwork, including the flatness, verticality and dimensional accuracy of the formwork. If there are any areas that do not meet the requirements, adjust them in time.

 (2) Conduct a preloading test on the formwork to test its load-bearing capacity and stability. The load of the preloading test should be applied according to the design requirements, and the preloading time is generally not less than 24 hours.

(3) Adjust and optimize the formwork according to the results of the preloading test. If necessary, the formwork structure can be strengthened or improved to ensure the safe and reliable use of the formwork during construction.

Concrete pouring and curing

Concrete pouring

 (1) After the formwork installation and debugging are completed, conduct concrete pouring. The mix proportion of concrete should be prepared according to the design requirements to ensure that the strength and performance of concrete meet the requirements.

(2) The pouring of concrete should be carried out in layers and sections. The thickness of each layer should not exceed 30 centimeters. During the pouring process, pay attention to vibrating densely to avoid quality problems such as honeycombs and pockmarks.

(3) After the concrete pouring is completed, clean and maintain the formwork in time to prepare for the next use.

Concrete curing

(1) After the concrete is poured, cure it in time. The curing methods can include covering with plastic film, sprinkling water, etc. to keep the concrete surface moist and prevent concrete cracking.

 (2) The curing time is generally not less than 7 days. During the curing period, regularly inspect and test the concrete to ensure that its strength and performance meet the requirements.

Disassembly and turnover of formwork

Formwork disassembly

 (1) After the concrete strength reaches the design requirements, disassemble the formwork. When disassembling the formwork, follow the sequence of removing the formwork that was installed first and then the formwork that was installed later to avoid damage to the concrete structure.

 (2) Use a crane to lift the disassembled formwork to the designated location and clean and maintain it. During the cleaning and maintenance process, pay attention to checking the damage of the formwork. If necessary, repair and replace it in time.

Formwork turnover

(1) Classify and store the cleaned and maintained formwork for next use. During the storage process, pay attention to preventing the formwork from deforming and corroding.

(2) According to the construction progress and needs, reasonably arrange the turnover use of the formwork. During the turnover use process, pay attention to inspecting and maintaining the formwork to ensure its performance and quality.

In conclusion, bridge segment formwork has important application value in bridge construction. Through correct installation, debugging, concrete pouring and curing, as well as formwork disassembly and turnover, the advantages of bridge segment formwork can be fully exerted to improve construction efficiency and ensure project quality. In actual construction, construction personnel must strictly follow construction specifications and operation guides to ensure the safe and reliable use of bridge segment formwork.
