At 8 pm on November 25th, with the final batch of concrete poured into the formwork, the main bridge of the Saribas Bridge was successfully closed, marking that the project construction has entered the final sprint stage and accelerating the completion and opening to traffic of the bridge.
Closure pictures of the main bridge of Salibas Bridge in Malaysia
The Saribas Bridge is located in Pusa Town, Betong Division, Sarawak, Malaysia. The total length of the bridge is 1,550 meters, and has a maximum span of the main bridge is 200 meters. It has a combined structure of continuous rigid frame and continuous beam. The continuous rigid frame bridge is a cast-in-place prestressed concrete box girder with a single box and single cell, variable height and variable cross-section structure, and is constructed by cantilever casting with form travelers.
The major challenges in constructing the bridge include driving large-diameter and long steel pipe piles in water, constructing high-pile caps with prefabricated concrete bottom cofferdams on water, and asymmetric cantilever construction with large spans. The construction environment of the project is extremely complex, with irregular tidal changes and a maximum tidal range of over 5 meters, resulting in a very high overall construction difficulty. During the construction process, the project team strictly implemented the quality control requirements, strictly controlled every aspect of the raw material inspection, technical scheme demonstration , and construction dynamic monitoring. Through effective organization and arrangement, the smooth progress of engineering quality and construction schedule was ensured. To ensure the smooth construction of the project, engineers from Boyoun also provided on-site guidance for multiple key nodes, such as the assembly and movement of cantiever form traveler, and conducted all-round and whole-process supervision. Their professional services were highly praised by the project and they were awarded honorary certificates to acknowledge their outstanding performance.
The opening of the bridge will promote regional integration and economic and social development in this area. Under the background of continuously deepening the joint construction of the "Belt and Road Initiative", this bridge will also serve as a valuable business card for "Overseas Boyoun"!
