Description

Han Shou Nan No.1 Super Bridge is located in Hanshou County, Changde City, Hunan Province. It has a total length of 5,273m, with the main bridge being a 48+80+80+48m cantilever cast-in-place variable cross-section continuous box girder structure. It is a double-frame bridge with cantilever form traveler pouring construction.

Project Background

This bridge is one of the difficult and controlled projects in the Yichang Expressway expansion project. The project has issues such as tight construction periods, large scale, and low budget, as well as a wide deck. The construction of the left and right frames is staggered, and the on-site crane performance is inadequate due to a limited number of cranes and a weight limit of only 4T for the tower crane. Additionally, there are many other challenges like the installation of the forming traveler  on the right frame and constructing block 0# on the left frame. In response to these challenges, Boyoun combined actual site conditions and formulated the following solutions.

Project Solutions

1.This project adopts the leasing cantilever form travelers. Boyoun has enough inventory and can dispatch materials from nearby bases, eliminating the need for processing time and reducing transportation distance and costs. Additionally, leasing is more cost-effective than new production, saving a significant amount of funds for the project and reducing the time required for forming travelers assembly, ensuring the project progresses on schedule.

2.To prevent interference from form travelers on both sides, a detachable adjustment segment is designed near the center line of the road to allow for backward movement.

3.To address the issues of the tower crane's insufficient performance and shortage of crane quantity, a diamond-shaped frame assembly method was used on site, which was divided into two parts for hoisting. Technical personnel and after-sales engineers provided guidance on-site for the assembly.

So far, the assembly of 5 sets of forming travelers for Hanshou South No. 1 grand bridge has been completed and successfully poured. Moving forward, Boyoun will continue collaborating with project personnel to complete the cantilever form traveler assembly and cantilever pouring construction in full force, laying a solid foundation for the completion of the main span closure for Hanshou South No. 1 grand bridge and contributing to the smooth passage of Yichang Expressway.
